Progress Testing

"Progress Testing" is a "checkpoint" in your training. It gives the Instructor a chance to see how well you are learning the material being taught. After you test, the instructor will make comments on what areas you need to improve on before you are ready for your next belt exam. Take note of these comments and take action to continue making progress.

Students may earn a stripe on their belt for successfully completing tasks on their rank advancement card. (See your attendance card for details)


Fitness Checkup

During Progress Testing, students will complete a fitness checkup consisting of the following: Pull ups, sit ups, push ups, squats, and a run. Minimum requirements are based on rank.

Beginner .5 Mile 25 in 1 minute 6 Perfect form 4
Intermediate 1 Mile 30 in 1 minute 9 Perfect form 6
Advanced 1.5 Miles 35 in 1 minute 12 Perfect form 8
Black Belt 2 Miles 40 in 1 minute 15 Perfect form 10

Rank Advancements

Students are eligible to advance in rank once they have completed all the tasks on their rank advancement card (attendance card).

Tasks you may find are:

-Attend a minimum of 35 classes
-Demonstrate your ability to perform self defense techniques
- Complete the fitness testing circuit
-Show that you are adhering to proper uniform protocol
-Complete an evaluation of blocks, strikes ,kicks and stances
-Demonstrate proper form in bag work and flash combinations

Advanced Belt board breaking minimum requirements:

Ages 8-9= Orange/Green Board
Ages 10-11= Green Board
Ages 12-13= Green/Blue Board
Ages 14-15= Blue Board
Ages 16-17= Blue/Brown Board
Adults= Brown Board

Black Belt board breaking minimum requirements:

Ages 8-9= Green Board
Ages 10-11= Green/Blue Board
Ages 12-13= Blue Board
Ages 14-15= Blue/Brown Board
Ages 16-17= Brown Board
Adults= Black
